This farm for beef production was severely affected by drought which lead to the farm becoming unproductive. ADA intervened to rescue this business by providing two boreholes to provide water for animals, a tractor and planter to cultivate soya and maize as well as production inputs, hay baling equipment (slasher, rake and baler), animal handling facility, 60 heifers and two bulls with their feed and medication. The ADA intervention aims to resuscitate the farming activities and provide sustainable cash flow in the shortest possible time. Kwazigugu farm has a ready market for beef animals at local abattoirs and auctions in Dundee and Ladysmith. Hay bales have been produced for on farm use and sales to surrounding farms. The farm ownership comprises of five adult (non- youth) beneficiaries with a majority female ownership (three females). The farm currently has two employees with five anticipated new jobs to be created once the intervention is complete.
